I was wondering why the discussion board hadn’t really worked with the MEd.  Very few people have contributed – I’m one of the main ones.  I think it’s because it’s an added extra and isn’t really fully integrated into the course; the  tutors hardly mention it either.  We see each other face to face in sessions, most people are working full-time so it’s just another additional thing.  If it was a fully DL course and/or the discussion board was a formal requirement and the tutors were more actively involved then it might work better.
